I chose this place for it's low price and it's availability — so I did not have high expectations. The advertised breakfast was not available (but I never expect to eat breakfast at places at this price point. I did plan to take a shower but no water came when I turned on the tap. I had stayed here a few years ago but I had no bad memories from that stay.
In short it was a cheap alternative to all the overpriced accommodation around WGI. Not a place to take your wife!

The promises made by the hotel regarding cookies etc being available, ARE NOT TRUE 1 It's just an ordinary hotel with ordinary facilities.
Exiting the hotel to travel locally by car, is also difficult, and it is too remote for walking anywhere other than the ( large ) mall across the road.

The downtown had a few restaurants that seemed good.
The downtown had a few restaurants that seemed good. The hotel we stayed in was not near the downtown area so had to drive. Not a place that had a lot of things to do but was about 30 minutes away from Watkins Glen State Park where we were going. Would not go there as a destination itself.

Great place to stay.
Great place to stay. It is close to the Cornish Glass Museum and the Rockwell Museum. Both are so interesting to visit. Good restaurants in town. The gal at the desk gave us good advice as to where to eat. We even tried some new and crazy dishes on the menu! Really enjoyed this town.

Rockwell Museum and Corning Museum of Glass were great.
Rockwell Museum and Corning Museum of Glass were great. Walk around the square. Travel to Finger Lakes. Also Aniello's pizza in Corning was superb. Would have gone back to try other menu items if time allowed.
I reserved a room at red roof in, but they put me in another hotel. The room was nice, but did not have a coffee maker as advertised. I wake up way earlier than my husband and want to enjoy a cup of coffee…have to go to a store close by for very bad coffee…I will not return when I asked the front desk about the coffee maker, he said they were only in the red roof in. I reserved a room there and have no idea why they switched it. They did not look to busy
The staff of this hotel was very friendly. We were greeted by a nice lady at the front desk who made us feel welcome and give us the information we needed. The room was spacious and we got a view on the garden from te room. There was a swimming pool available. The room and bathroom were clean. It was possible to park in front of the room.
It was a delightful stay. We had a very restful sleep in the comfortable beds. The free breakfast was incredible and we appreciated the 6am - 10am flexible schedule for that. The waffles and omelettes were delicious. Close proximity to the town Corning and Watkins Glen was only a 30 minutes drive away. Would definitely come back!
We were very happy to find this hotel with reasonable rates. We had booked at another hotel that was unacceptable (it wasn't cleaned and we were told that the cleaning person would be there the following morning. We were expecting to accept that and stay anyway.) This hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and accommodating.
The hotel was close to Watkins Glenn for the races and the best part was we were in walking distance of Walmart, Applebee's and Aldies so we never had to drive to get food or anything else we needed.
The room was clean and very comfortable.
We would definitely stay again for the races next year!
Staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. The breakfast was typical, lacking in protein or cooked foods. The lighting was poor and the pillows were either lumpy or stiff. Otherwise, it was sufficiently comfortable for my one night stay.
The hotel was in a good location for us. We went to Watkins Glen biking and kayaking. We also went to Corning Museum of glass. We enjoyed the breakfast and the rooms were clean. The bed was comfortable, we slept real good.
Handicap room roll in shower, very thankful for that... Always clean... Paul is very accommodating... Great location right by all major highways you might need & food, grocery, & gas right next to the hotel...
The location was close to the highway & only 10 minutes from Corning, pretty view from outside of the door, shower had good water pressure, room was clean.
